Falling Leaves

This was so much fun to create.   The entire piece is done with Faber Castel and  a few Prismacolor Pencils.   I prefer the Faber-Castel pencils because I use an alcohol blender to push the various colors together.     When I burnish using the wax-based Prismacolor pencils I use an old fashioned typewriter pencil eraser and a lot of pushing on the paper and pencil! 

Before I started this piece I attached the leaves to a board. I took lots of pictures of the leaves together and also separate. I  worked from the photographs.   You can press leaves for future use but they lose their color. You can however, see the tiny veins and this is a helpful resource to have handy.
